I didn’t do a very good job on the washing part. It is, at least, the cleanest it’s been since I got it. I managed to get a good amount of the green crap in all the nooks and crannies that inevitably builds up on anything around here. It looks pretty good in iphone pictures, but if I used the good camera you’d notice it’s not brilliant. If I find myself in a more picturesque setting than behind the garage I’ll use the good camera.
Edit* Forgot to add, I just bought a brush, wash mitt, microfibre towels, and soap. I’ll probably get other things once I get the hang of actually washing it properly.
The interior looks at least as good in person as it does in pictures though.
Also
Dat odometer.

1st piece of advice: don’t use that brush on the paint ever!!!!
Check out YouTube videos from AutoGeek and Ammo NYC for some great detailing tips as well as AutoGeekOnline.net for an amazing forum

I’m just using it for the wheels and the underside of the rockers/under the bumpers. Everything else I used the mitt instead. I shall check those out!

It seriously is a great color though. I love the way that in the right light it has almost a matte finish to it, which makes sense since they call it satin. It reminds me of the inside of a candy bar wrapper. It’s subtle, but it’s more interesting than plain white. As I’m sure you’re aware though, it doesn’t take much before it looks really ditry. Mine is in major need of a wash right now... Photo from cleaner times.

Ooh that looks very lovely. I haven’t gotten mine looking like that yet, I guess I have more work to do haha. Unless mine isn’t the satin part, could just be white pearl

Hmmm it looked satin to me in the very first and last photos. I’m 90% sure they offered satin white pearl on those Legacy wagons. Maybe it jsut fooled me. A mystery. In any case - your Legacy looks great!

When I see it in better light tomorrow I can get a better idea. Thanks!

How the hell did you find an 07 legacy with that low of mileage? My 2013 impreza has the same mileage.

If you ever get the notion that you want to put LGT or Recaro seats in it, I'm calling dibs to buy those ridiculously clean stockers :)

Gotcha, I thought you were talking about those flow through brushes like the coin washes have. I'm on the AutoGeek forum under the same username if you decide to join

Thanks! I just hosed it down, washed the majority with the mitt, rockers, bottom of bumpers, and wheels with the brush, rinsed, did a couple of areas again, and then wiped down with the microfiber towels. I think I need to get a small detailing brush or something, but I feel like I should get better at washing it basically before I get any other products for the paint

Haha I'll remember that, but I don't think I'll be changing anything from stock in the near future

I appreciate the offer, but you don't need to be dealing with shipping stuff, I can try out some of the products my friend uses a few blocks away, or get things from work since I get them at cost + 10%

I don’t mind fella. Honestly.
It can be an expensive search to find what’s right for you. So If I can assist in narrowing that search I don’t mind.

Well I definitely appreciate and use the suggestions, I guess I just feel bad taking things when I’d be able to buy them. I still need to try your quick detailer suggestion, I forgot to get some of that while I was at work

You shouldn’t feel bad. I’ve spent so much money over the years trying new products finding what’s right for me or finding what’s best for different cars.
I’ve found Gtechniq to be the best but Gyeon is great for the part-time user with the likes of Gyeon Bathe+ being a car shampoo and sealant in one.

Seeing it in better light today, I'm pretty sure it is satin. I haven't treated the paint well enough yet for it to be really evident, but the right angle let's you see the satin coat

Yeah I’m pretty sure it is - I believe satin white pearl was the only white offered around 2006 in the USA anyway. But I’d be really surprised if they had a different white for Canada on a car made in the USA.

I doubt it, though my grandpa spec’d it strangely. Base model with the winter package, AT, and this paint. I mean I assume it was a more expensive option than silver or whatever

Possibly not an option at all, especially on the Legacy/Outback line. Subaru has been bucking the trend of pay-extra paint options for a while. When we bought our Outback new in 2013, all colors on all trims were pearl/metallic and all were the same price. No non-metallic base paints to speak of. Now that being said, all Subaru paint has a reputation for not being applied to thick or being all that great.

Oh well that's simultaneously nice and kind of lame of them.
